when what seems to be whole is starting to collapse

I have this theory about friendship.
One pleasant morning you go outside the house simply to walk around.
Along the way you meet and greet several people.
Let's say you were able to connect somehow with ten different individuals.
So you mingle, talk, laugh, eat, talk some more, laugh some more.
By noon, you find your self less attached to a few of them.
Maybe you realize some unpleasant things about them.
Perhaps you find them less interesting.
Or simply you' re just slowly growing apart.
By sunset, you are now more bonded with those left.
And right before the day ends, you noticed something.
You realize, there's only four of you left.
Surprisingly, you find that okay.
At least your day ended with true friends.
It's just that, you could have had a much bigger circle.

tiny thoughts, friends
