Eeek, spiders!!
I'm not really THAT afraid of spiders - I have been more frightened of roaches since I grew up amongst them (they were EVERYWHERE)...but last night, I had to go to my car to retrieve something and walked right into a flippin spider's web. Not just one strand... I'm talking about a full fledged WEB. This ....web....was between my housemate's pickup truck and the house's lightpost. WTF, how?? Friggin nasty.
I wanted to scream, but wouldn't THAT look embarassing...people running out to see if you're okay b/c they think you're being mugged or what not - only to see you flail about like an idiot trying to scrub away invisible spider web strands.
Concerned citizen: "Is everything alright? I heard you scream - "
Me: ~blushing furiously and utterly mortified~ "Um.....ah...yes - I'm perfectly fine! It was just - oh, nevermind!"
I hate that feeling you get too, even 10 minutes later, where you feel itchy all over from imaginary bugs. UGH.

The women's soccer league I used to play in is no more and my team merged with another team and now we are one pretty damn good crew of soccer players!! We've been practicing together Saturdays and Sundays at high noon the past few weekends - guh yes, it was blazing HOT - but it's definitely paying off. Gut check - I am the 2nd oldest player on the team now. The oldest is 34. The youngest is 19 LOL. Funny how in the icebreaker when we were all introducing ourselves, everyone thought I was 20, not the 2nd oldest player on the team. That made me feel pretty good. :) Now I just gotta keep up with these whipper snappers!
