In the past week or two, my mailbox has been overflowing with things that make me happy (in addition to the unsolicited credit card offers and JCrew catalogs):
- a sheaf of postcards from James, mailed just before he left for a year in Japan (some are poems, some random musings, and a few actual messages for me)
- the first and second installations of "Polish Poets by Post," a postcard art project designed by my friend Elsbeth, featuring poems by
Zbigniew Herbert , a poet I'd never heard of before
- a lovely, newsy letter from the same friend
- an invite to one of two weddings I'll be attending this summer
AND
- a letter from the English Department at PSU, accepting me for their graduate program in Book Publishing
