Excuse Me? I worked my ass off the four years I was in High School to get accepted to colleges that I liked. I could give a rats ass less if I went to an Ivy League school. I went to a school that could give me a Double Major in Equine Management and Business. I also might be adding a minor of Equine Instruction and Training. I haven't decided that yet. I could NEVER get those majors at an Ivy League school. Nor would I ever want to go to a prissy wicked expensive school.
I am happy with my 6 acceptances: Cazenovia, Centenary, Johnson and Wales, Midway, University of Findlay, and Wilson. They have the major that I want and I am a place where I am happy. So leave Georgetown alone. All that matters is that the graduate goes to somewhere for their major but most importantly that it makes them HAPPY!!
just my two cents...jennytennyMarch 29 2004, 10:05:05 UTC
I still think there are some prestigious and hard to get into schools on that list...
Tufts, Syracuse, Northeastern, NYU, Barnard, Brown, Harvard, Berklee School of Music, Boston University, Boston College, Fordham University, Hamilton, UVM.
But I know you will probably beg to differ. And i still maintain that even if the school is't "prestigious" or "hard to get into" ...if the student likes it there and it has what that student wants and needs then there is no problem. Plus...its just a name. There are some state schools that are far better than some private schools.
It all depends on the students priorities and needs. It is all relative.

I agree with you. It really depends on the person. I am going to Suffolk in the fall, and even though it's not Ivy League, it's right for me. Actually, it's perfect for me!!! I could care less that I'm not going to Harvard, I wouldn't want to. It would be overbearing and I'd feel like an outcast. That isn't what I want to become, I want to be comfortable in my college and enjoy it to it's fullest. So, yeah. I actually forget why I started to respond to your post... oh well.
I don't want to make the wrong mistake.icanseeformilesMarch 29 2004, 18:18:47 UTC
Dani. First, I am happy that you are excited about Suffolk. I know you will make the best of it. So , don't misunderstand my comments and questions that follow
( ... )
I dont think anyone does. I think someone just applied there. That is just a list of places where people were accepted...not necessarily where they attend.
Ok why does it matter where others go. Grow up kid. The school I go to will not affect your choices will it. If you spent more time on your schooling from what I read you will get into any college you want, so as for others leave them alone. You really think this kind of "motivation" is going to work. I'm sick if your redundant rants on how georgetown this georgetown that. Who gives a fuck, you really think that people are going to be like " OMG some random person on LJ is making fun our our school." Look at the drug bust, oh that went real well, no more drugs in g-town huh? Good one buddy.....If you have nothing but critisim then just don't post anything. Live your life and let others live their own.
I'd like to know to what are you comparing this list of 2003 college acceptances? Because if you are comparing them to your private school's, then you are sorely misguided. Of course public school acceptances aren't going to be as "good" as those of a private school. You need good grades to get into a private school in the first place. A test to get into a private school would probably weed out half the kids in a public school. Its apples and oranges, but with some overlapping. That list of yours is an AWESOME list for a public school. Think about it.
