Anime Detour: Day Two Recap
Day two of Anime Detour involved about...oh, three or four hours of walking around and then leaving. I didn't do much, as there wasn't much to do and being Saturday, it was more crowded and stuffy than ever. I was stuck in the Dealer's Room for about twenty minutes and lost sight of ebonyscythe along the way. Then, somewhere between losing her and getting out, I ran into sennel, who had gone into the room a good ten minutes earlier.
It was gross. People were breathing over each other, hovering over one another, reaching out over each other (and shoving those below them into their arm pits) and whatnot. Ugh. The room was a freaking zoo. I swear. Even if I had wanted to stop to take a look at something, there wasn't enough room for me to do that. In the end, I walked out having bought nothing again. My sister ended up with two more Gintama figurines and ebonyscythe went in a second time and came out with a plastic sword with a wooden handle.
In the end, I only attended the Fanfiction panel. My sister ended up buying more art from the Artist Alley, but other than that, my sister and I ended up back home, enjoying Gintama and Eyeshield 21 some more.
Oh yeah, and I was wrong about the figurines my sister bought the first day. She had XANXUS, Squalo and Yamamoto from Katekyo Hitman Reborn and Okita, Elizabeth and Katsura from Gintama. On Saturday, she added another (different) Okita to her collection as well as Kagura from Gintama.

Gintoki Sakata (Gintama). Lol. We found her the second day and finally got her picture!
And, in preparation for Anime Detour 2011 (or so my sister hopes we go), sennel wants to cosplay as a group and start saving now (for both cosplaying and spending purposes). It'll probably fall onto me to register and reserve a hotel (if we're cosplaying, we're staying in a hotel), so that's my part of Anime Detour 2011 funds. As to what we're going to cosplay as...
Yeap! You bet you're seeing it right. sennel wants us to go as the Deimon Devil Bats from Eyeshield 21. Then again, that's mostly because she wants to be Sena Kobayakawa. As for me, I originally wanted to be Kurita, but after much consideration, I settled for this guy...
Shozo Togano. Linemen. Jersey #53. One of the Ha-Ha Brothers. Otaku. ♥ Oh yeah. LOL. Thankfully, we're going as them in their football gear, so I don't have to get a wig or style my hair or anything of the sort. I just need big round orange sunglasses. And, I'll probably be carrying around the latest volume of Eyeshield 21 (whatever that may be at the time) as my prop (my sister wants to carry a football).
We're thinking of ordering the jerseys, possibly with the numbers on them (although we can probably put the numbers on ourselves, or have our mom do it anyway) and buy our gloves and knee pads. The shoulder pads will probably be some sort of hand-made something (we're thinking cardboard bases with some sort of padding over it). As for the pants, I think Sennel said we should just get white tights and sew patches of padding onto it. For our helmets, we're going to buy solid black helmets and (spray) paint the Devil Bat wings onto them.
Whatever the case, my main priority now is worrying and saving up for Yaoi Con. =O I really hope everything goes okay and I can go. I would really love to meet Yamane Ayano. ♥
