Political Rant

In a news story posted on yahoo, entitled Bush challenges Iraq strategy skeptics [link] President Bush scolded critics of his plan to increase American troop strength in Iraq by sending an additional 21,500 troops to bolster security. A further indication of the fact that he is reneging on his promise of more bipartisanship in Washington, Bush criticized those who disagree with his plan.

He stated, "those who refuse to give this plan a chance to work have an obligation to offer an alternative that has a better chance for success."

Um, hello? Did he forget the alternative that was proposed by the Iraq study group? The one entitled, The Iraq Study Group Report: The Way Forward - A New Approach? The one he simply disregarded?

Hello? Is anyone in the Bush administration listening?

This story confirms two suspicions of mine. First is the fact that His Majesty King George II will never consider bipartisanship, and instead continue his policy of attempting to ram neo-conservative dogma down our throats to please the right wing of the Republican party. The second is that the best days of this nation are now behind us.
