I finished Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Today.
I'm so sad now that it's over. I loved the book. This book was definitely a lot darker than the other books and I kind of missed Harry being at Hogwarts. It was so good though. I totally spoiled myself like an idiot, so I knew who would die and the exact pages they would die on. I think it did make me more calm when I was reading at some points though. There were also still some surprises and I was still shocked when some of the people died despite knowing they would die, like for instance with Hedwig. The way she just dropped to the bottom of her cage. It was just so sudden and final. The same thing with Moody too. The lack of closure with their deaths made it all the more sad. One of the spoilers was wrong too because it said Harry would bring himself back using the wand and the rock, which actually wasn't true. He was brought back because Voldemort had some of Harry's blood in him which was enriched with his mother's protection charm. The spoilers failed to mention Crabbe's death so that was a bit of a surprise not that I was upset by it though. George losing an ear was a surprise too. I was tearing up a lot when both Dobby and Fred died. I felt so bad for Tonks and Lupin too. It was sad that Teddy ended up an orphan like Harry. At least he had a great Godfather in Harry like Harry had in Sirius. However, I think I cried the most when Harry "died". The way he was marching off to his death just made me really start to cry. Then he saw his parents and Sirius. I had tears coming down my face when Lily said, "You are so brave." I just felt so bad for him even though I knew he would come back.
Of course Snape wasn't evil, but I wanted him to be damn it! LOL! I still didn't like him much though. I still thought he was mean and unworthy of Harry's high praises. I thought the epilogue was a bit cliche. I could just be saying that though because I'm not a huge fan of the Harry/Ginny or Ron/Hermione pairings. At least we were spared a lot of the Harry/Ginny stuff because that pairing makes me gag. I can somewhat tolerate Hermione and Ron for the most part. The kids' names were a bit funny too and some of us actually thought the spoilers might not be true because the names just sounded predictable lol. I thought Harry should have named the kid Albus Sirius if anything too. Sirius was there for Harry more than Snape. I wish she would have maybe told us what Harry, Ron, and Hermione were doing for a living and also what became of some of the other characters. I like that Harry survived though and she did leave it open in a way that she could write Harry Potter: The Next Generation or something lol. Of course it wouldn't be the same though since we'd probably be following Harry's kids instead of Harry.
After this book, I'm pretty convinced that Sam Winchester and Harry Potter are one in the same no matter what Kripke says. Harry didn't want to kill because he felt that made him like Voldemort just like Sam was reluctant to kill. Harry went back in time to his parent's deaths just like Sam went back in time to Mary's death. Also Harry had a piece of Voldemort's soul in him which connected him to Voldemort. Sam has the demon blood that formed the connection between him and the YED. Both Sam and Harry died and came back. They also both had visions. Harry's parents died practically the same day as Mary. Well 2 days earlier but still. Also I was waiting for Lily to apologize to Harry when he was going off to die like when Mary apologized to Sam lol.
I'm glad we still have two movies to look forward to but I'm so sad the series is over :(
