Election night!
Have wine, have cheese, have Sunderland starting their count [1], have computer graphics on the telly. What more could a girl want?
Voted this evening after doing an early morning leafteling for the Lib Dems. Have had two Lib Dems canvassers around this evening to see if we'd voted, Tories just had a teller at the Polling Station.
The Mori exit poll is assuming that there will be 3 Lib Dem losses and 97 Conservative gains, which would mean we'd go from Lib Dem to Tory. Given the majority is only 126 that wouldn't be surprise, but I hope we don't. I really, really hope that the exit polls, which are of course based on uniform swings, are wrong.
[1] Sunderland are hoping to declare by 10.43 to break their record. That's 43 minutes after the polls close. They've been practising, have human chains of sixth formers and probably even police esorts for the ballot boxes!
