Personally, I enter the same "zone" when writing and drawing that I did when I was a kid. Intellectualizing is for the scholars, not for the heroes.
However, in relation to my original comment, my goal is to split myself in two, and have both the mind and soul actually working together, combining natural elements and energy of myth with the persuasive and cunning power of the intellect.
I despise people who constantly thrive to "grow up", it is a horrible thing, and it makes me sick. One who consistantly tries to be mature is horrible and dry. I've seen it in many cases, and the person always ends up mean, boring, and rude.
That's what the system wants. That's what Elementary/Secondary school was ALL ABOUT! Drying you up into working drones, trying to force-feed responsibility and fear. I cannot stand it.
There is something completely pure in children, not innocence as people might believe, but spiritual strength.
You know what, I don't want to type any more of this out. There are too many thoughts in my head, I want to express them verbally.
