Gingerbread recipes?
Anybody have a good gingerbread recipe? I had a hankering for some (like the gingerbread house my sister had last year: crunchy and yummy). I found a recipe that resulted in extremely bitter, almost unbreakable bricks of the stuff. Yuck! Last time in the supermarket, I found a package of gingerbread mix (add butter or butter substitute, egg or egg substitute, and a little bit of water; mix; and bake) which was great (though the cookies stayed soft, which is good, too). I think it was Pillsbury, but it might have been another brand, and I'd rather just make the whole shebang from scratch, 'cause the mix was kind of expensive per cookie, and made a small batch.
