Fission for readers

All right, it's a lame pun. Sorry.

But the meaning behind it is pretty good (I think and hope): I've twinned this lj. In talking with my publicist and editor, they suggested a blog devoted almost exclusively to presidential trivia and politics/government discussions (leaving out the personal observations and other stuff that sometimes crops up here) as a better way to promote my book. (Actually, they both said "web site", but while I've got the content, I'm not so much for the design/layout/graphics/making it look good part that web-spinning requires, so for the nonce, it's just a blog. If I can find some help, I'll come up with a web site, too.)

Anyway, the reason for this post is to announce the opening of my new blog, under the handle uspresidents. Please take a look, and please tell your friends about it. Unlike this lj, I'm going to try to actively promote that one, to see if I can really build up some readership (I've let this one grow pretty much organically, and I'm very pleased to have as many wonderful readers as I do). So I'm also open to suggestions on how one goes about advertising/marketing/promoting a blog to pull in readers one doesn't already know.

Thank you, all.

P.S. - I will continue reading my friends list through this blog, so I won't be friending people over there (just so you don't feel unloved). And Michael, that was fast!
