Day One!

Feb 11, 2006 01:12

So today was the beginning of the [Knitting] Olympics! By the way, Shaun White is my official Weasley sweater real-Olympian mascot. Why? Because he looks like a real Weasley, duh! And I always need a random athlete to cheer for in a sport that I don't really understand!

Anyways. I know that's it's actually Saturday morning now, but let's just pretend it's still Friday night because that's how it feels to me. And all knitting was completed prior to midnight. ^_^

Last night (Thursday), Rene helped me wind all of my skeins into center-pull balls. That was much more time-consuming than I'd anticipated. And I didn't do the skein of CC for the initial. Why? I dunno, I just didn't.

My 16 center-pull balls! Wow!

After I got home around 2 today, I gathered all of my stuff (yarn, needles, pattern, Dove chocolates, tape measure) and curled up on the couch to begin my marathon knitting. Today I got about 5.5 inches into the back, which required just under 1 ball of yarn (I'll have to add in the second ball at some point in the next row). I figure this is pretty good (16 balls, 16 days, if I keep going like this I should finish), but I really think I need to pick up the pace a bit. But not to the point of injuring myself, of course. ^^;;

Today's work:

Picture is terrible because I'm rushing before going to bed...

My goal for tomorrow: have at least 15 inches done! Although if I could reach more like 20 (or even the 23.5 I need before I can bind off the shoulders), that would be totally awesome.

But now I should sleep... orientation tomorrow! I'm assuming jeans will be OK, seeing as how we won't actually be "working" (and stocking, which we'll probably do for the next month, is better in jeans that business attire). Excited! Need to sleep!!
