I always have lofty goals for my off Friday's. Usually they involve cleaning, which is not a bad thing considering I am a neat freak, and everything has its place. When the house is neat, 'all is right.' The only slight problem I have is that clutter annoys me more than dirt. When there is clutter there is no inner peace, dirt...well, I have to be really motivated because a little dust doesn't really bother me.
This morning I thought I would either clean the upstairs bathroom, or clean the kitchen. I wasn't too over ambitious. One would be fine.
Then I slept in.
And I was really lazy, laying in bed watching the Food Network (Paula, followed by Giada, then Rachael).
I also enjoy taking my time getting ready. Adam isn't telling me I'm taking too long, I have nothing set in stone for the day, nowhere I HAVE to be. So by the time I came downstairs, it was lunch time.
Then I felt like reading a magazine. Only, I had just eaten, so I thought I would go hit up the Bath and Body Works sale, walk around, and then come home and clean. The magazine wasn't going anywhere, afterall.
Or so I thought.
Old Navy is next door to Bath and Body Works. I had to browse to see if they had any Valentine's day socks and a cute doggie sweater I saw in a magazine. Mikko needs on after all, right??? Of course! Naturally, I had to try on some clothes too.
An hour later I was headed home. I got to watch the neighbor hit a parked car (as mentioned on Facebook).
And I got distracted by the internet. I made a new habitat for my online pet penguin. He needed an outdoor ice skating rink!
Now, around 3, I figure I'll tidy up the downstairs so it doesn't look like I did absolutely nothing allday.
I've managed to toss a few bottles into the recycle can and put away the bag of books I lent Cheryl back in October.
Hmm...now I'm back online. Nowhere nearer to doing any productive house cleaning.
...and that magazine is still calling my name. So is the recliner.
