Sorry to be writing about my health again but since this is more of a diary than anything, it's appropriate that I keep track of my health. Also this particular illness is a standout in my history of disease!
Having felt under-the-weather since our return from San Antonio after the first week in December, I was ripe to pick up some flu germ. While we were there, our bathroom was undergoing a major overhaul by having a bathtub & closet removed and a roll-in shower installed it its place. Pocket doors replaced one whole wall. Naturally the bathroom was not operational until 3 days after we got back so we had to stay in a nearby hotel. Two days after that Tim had his carpal tunnel surgery and was completely out of commission for 5 days.
I also was fairly bushed from Tim's care and the events of early December and so tried taking it fairly easy for a couple days. Then all I did was get my hair cut, attend an M&M lasagna luncheon, and accompany Tim for his first week check-up of his surgery. I also enjoyed 9 hours of a complete cleaning service over this horribly dusty house (from living here 14 years and undergoing 2 huge renovations recently). The next 1.5 days I spent in bed but started feeling fluish with aches & chills. Sure enough, I was bedridden for 12 whole days with the whole gamut of flu symptoms. For awhile I couldn't walk due to weak legs and an unbending right leg. I blame that on the sustained fever affecting my MS. I can walk now.
Fatigue is my constant companion. I can't get much done without pooping out. I lie down whenver I feel I should and promptly go to sleep. My apetite still has not returned full force, a good thing. That keeps me a bit weak too.
Tim was an absolutely wonderful nurse, taking care of my basest need without a whimper. He also managed to keep the household running well from preChristmas past New Year's Day. Above & beyond the call of husbandhood (although he would not say so)! In sickness and in health...
