So, last night was pretty quiet for us. Drank a bit of wine, and a bit of vodka. Watched rage (it was retro night, lol). Guessed correctly that Elton John's 'Club at the End of the Street' was animated by the same company who did the credits for Fry and Laurie's Jeeves and Wooster. (Had to dig about on IMDb to prove myself correct.) Watched a bit more CSI - am now mid season six and well aware that I only have those six seasons - on loan from a friend, no less. Fortunately, every season seems to have some eps with commentary, so I'll be going through and listening to those and watching whatever other content is on them before they go back. Any other seasons I want to see will have to be downloaded, though, and I just don't have the bandwidth for that. Might have to hit up my brother. :) Aside from that, we have four new Red Dwarf DVDs thank you to
random-yayness, so we should have plenty to keep us busy until well into January.

I actually vacuumed the kitchen yesterday. It's passably clean. Today, I'll vacuum the lounge room if I can. More clothes washing, too. I'm sick of wearing the only clean things, and stepping over things on the floor. I know I can't maintain the house at an optimum level, but I do try to do what I can when I have the energy. Plus, today is hot; good clothes drying weather.

Emma made cherry plum jam the other day, and it's awesome. The jar it's in is a clip top jar we reclaimed from the charity shop, and it has moulded detailing of fruit on the outside of the glass. It's chunky and retro and kinda kitsch and I love it. Making enough jam for our own consumption a jar at a time has been so good. First mulberry, then apricot, now cherry plums from our own tree - the tree that was really unhealthy last year until I ripped all the honeysuckle down from its branches, no less. We must have had about a dozen plums off that whole tree last year - this year, the branches are touching the ground with the weight of the fruit, and the ground itself smells like it's alcoholic with all the stuff that's dropped and fermenting into the soil. It's amazing.

I'm about to start the last repeat of the Onerva scarf, and then it's on to something new for somebody else. Both this and the Petra scarf will need light blocking. Once I've done that, the lace will be open and they'll look pretty amazing. Here's to getting my Christmas gifts knit by the end of January!
