So, I've been knitting right through the last month or so, making hats for people all over the world. It's been a lot of fun, and I'm quite proud of myself. I've learned a lot, too.
But knitting wise, wow, am I booked up next year!
Firstly, Mandi had me on the cards to make some awesome knitted toys for Luie. Originally, I was aiming to have them done for his birthday, but that has been shifted waaaay sooner, thanks to my brother getting his new wife pregnant. So, middle of the year will be the time for knitting her nappy covers.
Translation:
Today, since I GOT GRANTED DISABILITY!!, I got backpay from when I claimed. So, we got a few hundred dollars to actually buy groceries with and things. Also, I went looking at yarn. For around forty dollars, I picked up a bunch of hard-wearing acrylic yarn for the toys, and then, when I got home, I went online, to a yarn website I LOVE, which is closing down, and picked up a great selection of brilliant wool yarn for INCREDIBLY CHEAP PRICES to use for the nappy covers. All in all, I spent a bit under $100 on yarn today, and I'll get most of it back from Mandi and Judi. Now I just have to make it into things...
