My DW paid time ran out, and ALL my Who/Torchwood icons vanished, save this one. Not impressed, considering the ones it kept I haven't been using. I might have to reshuffle them, but it seems like so much work.

Went walking with Pip today around Chinaman's Hollow. He had a lovely time off leash, and we chatted with the owner of a poodle/shi tzu/maltese called Bubbles. As we were finishing our walk, we found a stray dog. He was friendly, approached us and wanted to say hello. I made Pip's leash into a loop to put around his neck, as he didn't have a collar of any kind, and we took him to the RSPCA and put him in the after-hours surrender cages. He was some kind of cream and white medium-length coated wiry terrier. He was dirty (grease on his head and back suggested he'd been living under a car) but he wasn't underweight. He wasn't desexed either. I don't know what the chances are of him being microchipped, or his owners claiming him, but he had a lovely temperament and was friendly with both strange people and dogs, and travelled well in the car, so I can't see them having trouble rehoming him. We've asked Em's mum to find out tomorrow how it goes when they process him, anyway, and keep tabs on him until he goes to his old/new home.

I'm still knitting a lot; right now, a cardigan commissioned by a friend. I've never made a jumper or cardi for an adult, only babies, so it's an interesting experience, and I'm enjoying seeing how it's coming together. Apart from that, I'm trying to take it easy. My bad shoulder's been playing up a bit, and I jarred it in the car yesterday, which seems to have exacerbated it. I'm using the icepack and taking anti-inflammatories and hoping it settles down instead of getting worse.

We have a new washing machine on the way! It's due to arrive next week. It's a little more expensive than the one we initially looked at, but it looks better quality, and it was half price due to the sale and the fact that it was the last machine of that model in stock. It comes with two years warranty, we paid for two years extended warranty on top of that, and we can send away for a $150 water rebate because it's got a high-starred water usage rate. Of course, we can only afford to buy it in the first place because Em's dad's offered to lend us the money, but once our tax returns come through we'll be able to pay him back. It just made sense to buy one now, while all the end-of-financial-year sales are on.

Roast pork for tea! It's been so long since we've had a roast.

ouch, dreamwidth, food, dog, pippin, rspca, knitting
