Touch me I'm sick

So I get all bummed about mixing and then suddenly I'm super happy with everything I'm doing. For whatever reason I just became obsessed with killing 100-200hz... I think it just worked once and suddenly I wanted to do it everywhere. Lesson learned. Also, never underestimate the power of hi-passing.

Kamikaze Eyes is finally done. It took forever to get together to iron out the final mixes, but I'm almost glad now because I was able to apply new tricks to a mix I had been sitting on forever. Also Pete got some Waves plugins so I can finally use a decent d-esser. Very pleased with the results.

I feel like reading this entry will feel like reading one of Jay or Brendan's entries when they talk about trading stuff. Sometimes you just need to psych yourself up though, even if it's on your public journal that you know lots of people will be reading/skimming.

So my Ipod has been acting funny lately. It won't display certain artists, yet when I browse by album, the songs are still there. Sometimes it will tell me I have 3 copies of the same record on my Ipod, but Itunes reveals only the one. Most irritating of all, certain albums it will play extremely quietly and others at their normal volume. Sometimes only half an album will be quiet and the other loud.

So I took the plunge and reset the whole thing, erasing everything. Let me tell you, it is fucking liberating. For so long, I dragged my heals on adding new albums to my Ipod because that meant I had to delete some stuff first. Like I had some kind of pack-rat syndrome, I would hold on to albums that I hadn't even once listened to.

Now that I've started over, I can put a ton of shit on there that I've always wanted to have. I'm ripping cd's that have sat in my car forever. It's a beautiful thing.
