I have a gigantic (almost, but not quite, 1 foot in diameter) ball of gorgeous yarn. It's begging me to make something of it. I can't quite make a decision on what to make though. It's gorgeous dyed yarn, somewhat lightweight and perfectly smooshy. It knits up beautifully. And there's 1400 yards of it. I could do a shawl, which would turn out lovely, but would I use it? I dunno.
On the other hand, I have three sweaters on the needles right now. I should work on those. I was good and did the finishing work on one other sweater after winding this yarn. It's now ready for blocking, which will happen tomorrow. Then a few buttons, and by early next week, I'll have a new garment.
I've got
this sweater to finish up - just 1 3/4 sleeves left to go. (And hours and hours of weaving in ends.) But it will be big and pretty and comfy, I think.
I could work on Reil's sweater, which, when I actually work on it, comes along quickly, if boringly. Or there's the peach colored top, which is going to be too small for me, but if I can finish it up and write up a pattern for it, might turn out to be smashing on someone else.
I guess that at this moment, I'm less motivated to work on stuff for other people. Especially since I just finished a bunch of little projects - baby blanket, wrist warmers, xmas stockings, etc.
gah. i don't know. I'd better sleep on it.
Maybe I'll just carry this ball of yarn around with me like a crazy lady and her ball of string. It's pretty soft and squooshy. I do like it.
