Television and Movies

Movies: Little Miss Sunshine and The Last Kiss. I thought both were excellent. Overall, LMS is more compelling for me than TLK, and with a wider range of incredible performances - Steve Carrell, Alan Arkin, both of the kids, Toni Collette, even Greg Kinnear. The Last Kiss, though, spoke to me in many ways. I enjoyed Zach Braff, Tom Wilkinson and Blythe Danner. I thought that Rachel Bilson's performance was annoyingly spot on. I'd recommend both movies.

TV Shows: For the first time in, what, 14? seasons, Survivor doesn't speak to me. It hasn't been removed yet, but may not stay on our season pass list for long. Another not long for a season pass is, quite possibly CSI: Miami. At this point, it's pretty much a drinking game for us. And we dropped DH last year.

However, we've been very happy with the first three episodes of Standoff. Fun, but it's got suspense and some mystery to it. Tonight we watched the first episode of Studio 60, and were hooked. Dang, it's good to see Aaron Sorkin back in the game again. The only disappointment for me was Amanda Peet. She doesn't quite convince me, though I like the character.

MI-5 started up again this week, with its usual perfection. It was a two parter, though, which left us hanging. I still miss Tom, but the new lot looks like it will do just fine.

Yeah, that's more than you want to know about TV, right?
