So I'm finally back at my house after being away for 2 weeks. First I went home to the parents for Christmas. My last Christmas before I'm married, so it was a bit bittersweet to realize that everything is going to be different after this. And it was the first year that I didn't open my stocking with Jennifer early Christmas morning while the parents slept. But I had a good time anyway.
Left on the 27th for Mont Saint Anne in Quebec. I spent a week there with the fiance and his family. It was so much fun! I skied the first 2 days, and then gave up and spent my time reading books in front of the fireplace. I think it's exactly what I needed. I really needed a break! It has rejuvenated me to the point where I now know that I must get a new job as soon as possible. And I got home tonight and there was a message on my phone asking me to come for an interview at KitchenSense, so here's hoping I'm not too late to do that. I'll take it in a minute if I'm offered it. It had to be better than what I'm doing!
Skiing was an interesting event as always. I'm really not athletic enough to ski for more than 2 days at a time. My legs hurt so bad on the second day I had to give up, but I did have some fun doing it. JF skied with me the first day, though I know he would have rather thrown himself down some double black runs instead of the green ones I went on. He told me he enjoyed sharing skiing with me at least that much, so I think it was worth it. Finished reading my new Christmas book while I was there. It's called "Our Lady of the Lost and Found" and I totally recommend it. It's a lot of stories of Marian apparitions built around a novel. Fascinating stuff.
So now I'm back to work tomorrow, though hopefully not there for very much longer. I will make sure of it! And the wedding planning has now started in earnest with my parents, so I'm really excited about that. I'm starting the year off right! Happy New Year! I hope 2006 will be the best yet.
