In Soviet Russia, moonwands cycle you!

I don't think anyone will quite understand how much respect for myself I have lost today. But I'll start from the beginning.

So copperbadge posted in his journal about shitty fantasy novels. metallumai and meran_flash got into and interesting discussion with him, culminating in the ultimate fantasy novel title: Fire of the Crystal Elven Magesword of Dragonstar: The Pegasus Chronicles, Book Three: The Moonwand Cycle.

Well, naturally when I saw "The Pegasus Chronicles", my mind instantly went to SGA. I said the title sounded like a really bad SGA fantasy AU, and then... somehow it became one. You can read the plot here, as well as various other contributions.

Somehow I got shanghaied into writing a bit of it, and illustrating. The worst bit is that I did.

Teyla Emmagen, of the Clan of Athos, could feel a headache building. "Repeat what you have told me," she bade the red-faced, gasping messenger, "but more slowly this time."

"In the North Woods," the messenger repeated, still breathing heavily, "there was some sort of - strange noise. Some of us went to check on it, because it came from near the J'Ones home, but we haven't heard back from them, and then I saw -” The faun hesitated.

"What did you see?" Teyla asked gently.

"I saw a woman of Sibur," the faun whispered, and began shaking all over again.

Teyla could feel her eyes widening, her hands clenching into fists. Eight months ago had marked the end of a terrible war between the men of Sibur and the creations of the mad sorcerer Davros. The people of the Torch Woods had been unable to do anything but watch as their homes were destroyed in the crossfire. Many Woodsians had been lost before the Clan of Athos stepped in to protect the Woods. But at the end of the war, both sides had been spent nearly to utter destruction, and had retreated to the lands from which they had come.

The mages of Athos had kept the shields up ever since. If a woman of Sibur had entered the Torch Woods, they should have known. The fact that they did not unsettled Teyla deeply.

She glanced at the great sundial at the center of her people's encampment, and made a few quick mental calculations. The convoy from Atlantis would be arriving within the hour. But this threat could not go ignored.

"Do you know a man of my clan named Halling?" Teyla inquired of the faun. At his nod, she continued, "Find him, if you would, and tell him that I have gone to deal with this problem. Ask him to greet the Atlanteans if I do not return in time."

"Thank you, my lady," said the faun fervently, before scampering off to find Halling.

Sighing, Teyla activated the magic that would enable her to speak to the other Protectors of Athos. "There is a woman of Sibur in the North Woods," she told them without preamble. "We must stop her at once."

This one's my favourite. I didn't think I'd be able to draw Ianto at all. He did come out looking a bit younger than intended, though...

Sam wanted either Jack or Rodney in long, elflike hair. I don't think I ever want to see either of them with long hair ever again.

[shudders] Can you tell I got impatient with colouring? I still can't draw Rodney, of course. Not well.

For the record, I probably will write more. This is fun, once I get around the utter contempt for myself and all that good stuff. XD; But anyone is welcome to join in the madness. Please. Save me from myself.
