"Yuckya!"

Yesterday was really nice and definitely needed.

I met Dionis at Food Lion around 8:30 where we bought ice and gushers. We grabbed breakfast at BK (love) before setting out on our little beach adventure. We had been planning on doing this a year ago, so I'm glad we finally got around to it. The ride down wasn't bad at all. It only took about 2 hours.

What a genuine smile.

I had my first ATM experience (dumb) before we could get parking. $5 for the whole day sounded good to me. There was some woman screaming obscenities at her family as we were unloading the car, and we followed them to the beach. It was definitely not like Chincoteague. There were a lot of people there, but I guess it could have been more crowded. We found a spot, put our stuff down, put on sun screen, and then ran in to the water because it was so hot. We stayed in there for a long time, which was fun. It made us really tired so we took a break for a couple minutes. Fighting the current is a good work out.

So we just sat out on the towels for a while and I took pictures.

Again, how genuine.

This picture would have been cuter if Dionis didn't look like he was on drugs and if I didn't look gross.

19 years old.

Too crowded for my taste.

Cute. This was his second time going to the beach-- first time where the ocean didn't have bricks in it.

Hahaha. This is my favorite picture. So serious.

This was our sand castle. We buried our feet and put some ice cubes on top. Awesome.

I don't like this picture. The end.

We went back out in the water again after that. Got hit by waves, etc. We were in the water until about...1 something? So we'd only been at the beach for a little over 2 hours, but we were tired and hungry. We took our towels and cooler back to the car and then started on a quest for food, which proved to be difficult. We went in one place but it was too hot, so we went looking for another. Eventually we stopped at a little restaurant that looked promising. It was expensive, let me just say that. Spent too much, but I got some cream of crab soup AND crab imperial, which was what I had been craving. It was worth it.

Mmm... crab imperial.

Other seafood. Not sure what's on there, but I think it must have been good.

Of course we ate way too much, so we tried to walk it off. First we walked down the boardwalk, then we decided to walk on the beach again. Walking in sand is hard, so we moved down to the surf.

Obligatory "standing in the surf with the ocean behind you" picture.

Something similar to the above caption.

At first we thought we were going to go home, but we figured we'd stay a little longer, so we went BACK to the car and got our towels again. At first I was feeling full/gross, so I decided to sit on the beach while Dionis went in by himself. I didn't want him to drown, so I watched/took pictures. Very mom-like.

Now, while he was in there I shot a movie of him as well. When he got back to shore he told me that he had touched the top of a jellyfish and freaked out (that's why he got out of the water). [As I had to explain to him after the incident, only the bottoms of jellyfish can hurt you, as we all know from watching Finding Nemo.] Well apparently I caught that moment on film, and while it's happening I'm saying stuff like, "Look at how much fun he's having," etc. It was funny. Here's Dionis coming ashore after the frightening jellyfish incident:

We went back in the water, but the whole time we were scared about the jellyfish. Then we kept hearing people say "jellyfish," so that didn't help. Still, we had some more fun in the water before getting out for the last time.

We sat on the beach for a while before deciding to go home. Traffic was worse on the way back, which was lame.

When we got home I started feeling like crap. We were going to go back out with Aaron and Deanna, but they both cancelled. It was probably for the best because I felt REALLY crappy, so Dionis just went out separate ways and I came home and fell into a coma.

Now I have to go to the eye doctor's in a couple minutes, so hopefully I'll be able to see when I come home. Yay.

sick, pictures, beach, dionis day
