Summary: This is a Christmas present for
Aunt_Zelda who requested a 'Molly has two daddies' fic with teasing and homophobes.
They were standing in the grocery line minding their own business. Molly was reading the back of the cereal box and Matt was holding Mohinder's hand. The line was long and the wait boring. Matt didn't notice the cart pull up behind theirs until he caught the thought.
That's just disgusting.
He looked back. A woman in her mid 40's was standing by the cart behind theirs. She was staring right at them.
And that little girl. I hate to think of what will happen to her.
Matt coughed and the woman looked up. He glared daggers at her and pulled Mohinder closer.

“Hey, I'm sorry. I have to work late tonight,” Matt spoke into the phone. “It's not my fault Mohinder. Yes, I know its the only night you'll be home this week. Did I mention it wasn't my fault? I have a case. No, it can't wait.” Matt heaved a huge sigh. “Yeah, I'll see you later then. Mohinder, love you.” He shut his phone and shoved it in his pocket. His partner was looking at him with raised eyebrows.
“What?”
He shook his head. “Nothing.” Matt caught the thought Never would have thought he swung that way...

Matt tried not to think about the ignorant thoughts thrown at them in public. He tried really hard not to think about it. Mohinder seemed mostly unaffected. But having to listen to a near constant string of ignorant thoughts gave him a horrid headache.
Usually the thoughts of How sweet. and what a cute couple made up for it. But then Molly would come home nearly in tears because a boy picked on her for having two dads and Matt's anger would flare up again.
~~ ~~ ~~
Molly hated it when people teased her about her dads. She would not stand for it and the other children quickly learned this. Most of them anyway. One did not tease Molly Walker-Suresh-Parkman without suffering consequences. Molly did not hit other children unless they made the mistake of teasing her about her family. But some kids, like Samuel, never seemed to learn.

Matt had to have a meeting at the school with the teacher and the parent of the boy who picked on Molly. Molly had pushed the boy when he wouldn't stop. The woman was furious that her son got shoved. Matt was a little proud of Molly.
The woman sat through the meeting thinking thoughts like That girl will never turn out normal. and How can they let people like that take care of children?
~~ ~~ ~~
“Matt, people are always going to be like that. You shouldn't let it bother you to much.”
Matt glowered. “I cant really help it Mohinder. You didn't have to sit through an hour of some bitch listening off reasons why you are an unfit member of society in her head.”
Mohinder crossed his arms over his chest and glared. “Oh really? Matthew, I've had to deal with much worse then that in my life. Get used to it. It won't go away.”
~~ ~~ ~~
Matt caught Mohinder around the waist and pulled him close. He breathed in Mohinder's sent and smiled against his neck. “You know I don't really care. Yeah, it ticks me off sometimes that people think the way they do but having you and Molly more then makes up for it.”
Mohinder leaned back in his arms and smiled. “Good. I'm glad you think that.”

Molly set her jaw and leveled a glare at Samuel.
“You're weird!” He shouted. “You're whole family is weird!”
Molly lifted her chin defiantly. “Yeah, we are.”
