Several weather forecasters predicted that this coming week would be beautiful--not a single 90 in site. On my way home from an errand today? The temp in my car read 97F. Sigh.
I went and got my oil changed. I was a bit nervous because my car is slightly older than this journal, so it's at the age where stuff can go wrong. Luckily, the only issue isn't pressing and I can take care of it in 6-12 months, basically whenever I have positive cash flow. The bigger problem was the construction on the way there--holy cow is 64 terrible. Not only has it been reduced from four lanes to two, it's also the detour for the Route 25 construction. As it's the only way to get to the dealership, I had to sit through it; it took twice as long to get there as it should have, and I was 10 minutes late. I hate being late, but what can you do?
I haven't driven around much lately--I haven't gotten gas since January, so what does that tell you--and so I hadn't seen the new sign outside the baseball stadium. We have a minor league team in the area, and the stadium's naming rights got purchased by the bank with a funny name (Fifth Third), and there's now this big sign out front with this colorful marquee. I'm not sure it's digital but it sure was busy. The good news was that my route home took me past Dukane Carton Craft, home of my favorite (and low-key) marquee. Today's pearl of wisdom: Is a broken can opener a can't opener? I laughed. :)
