It came from inside the bag!

Yesterday was Surprise Thursday! Oh boy.

My purse was in a bag I've been using, and I wanted to get something out of it, so naturally I went in the bag. Except I noticed what looked like cobwebs in the bag. That's...really odd, especially since I was just in the bag the day before; it's not like I haven't touched it in months. I found an old rag and started wiping out the inside of the bag; yeah, that's definitely a spider web. And then I found the spider, which was still emitting web.

...

Had it been a smaller spider, I probably would not have, y'know, freaked. But it was a pretty decent-sized spider. I immediately removed what I could from the bag and ran it outside. I shook that thing like I was Ferris Bueller in the Von Steuben parade. Alas, the spider was enjoying itself, so I ended up grabbing a stick, making the spider climb on, and then putting the stick in the bushes in front of the house. *shudder* See, the nice thing was that it was probably warmer there, anyway, since the house is so cold.

In a way, I'm actually thankful for our just-over-60F house, because I was not the recipient of yesterday's other surprise. My father takes milk in his coffee, but yesterday he didn't take a sip of his coffee until he was partway to work, and as soon as he sipped he rolled down his window and spit it out--the milk had curdled. Normally I have a bowl of cereal in the morning, so on your average morning I'd have experienced that, except it was so cold I opted for Cinnabon Cream of Wheat and a Pop-Tart. Mmm, warm. Had the same this morning. Anyway, after he got home and told me what happened, I went to wash out the jug. Sure enough, it looked like drinkable yogurt in there. Ew.

Thankfully the rest of the day was uneventful, but dang.

dad, family, bugs, milk, spiders
