SO MUCH EXCITEMENT!

It's almost like I have a life! Wow. Okay, where to start?

Yesterday was my lunch with Mr. C. It was great to see him, and he looks pretty good; he's not able to walk great distances, but he doesn't have to use a cane at least. We had a nice talk and it sounds like he's looking forward to camp this summer. Good, because it's a big one--#25. Alas, we didn't discuss any fun stuff, but then again that was never his thing.

Next, one of my cousins (a legit cousin I've known from childhood, not the distant third cousin I've been in contact with on Ancestry.com) had gone onto the website and saw that we'd done a bunch of stuff. She'd like to get together sometime soon to go over what each of us has, plus I mentioned the treasure trove of pictures I had. This is my cousin whose grandmother died in the fire in November 2009; anything of that sort was destroyed. I hadn't thought about that, so it makes me want to find as many duplicates as possible and give them to her and her mom. I know I have pictures of her uncles and a great-aunt that she'd probably like to have.

Then, my grandma called a little while ago; looks like my uncle's roommate is trying to throw him a birthday party, except his birthday this year falls on Easter, and the roommate was trying to hold it on the actual day. Uh, really? The roommate tried to convince my grandma that nobody celebrates Easter. Just because you don't celebrate it doesn't mean nobody else does. Grandma finally convinced her to change the date, but I'm not exactly holding my breath on it; the roommate had planned a party before and canceled it late in the game. Still, the thought is nice.

I saw a couple interesting things on the ride to lunch yesterday, which indirectly reminded me of a third thing:
--A car had a faded Hakuna Matata bumper sticker on it. I remember, back in the mid-'90s, there was a car in the area with that on its license plate.
--That reminded me of a plate I saw recently, something like YES IM L8.
--The sign at Dukane Carton Craft read, "Try the Cubs diet - only eat when they win." NICE.

I'm probably forgetting something, but I'll go with this for now.
