The thaw has begun

Less than two weeks ago, when we were stuck digging out from the blizzard, I thought I wouldn't see my front lawn until April. Turns out it was a good thing I didn't mention the *back* yard, as a good portion of it is now visible.

Yes, it's positively spring-like outside right now. I went out to get the mail wearing a 3/4-sleeve shirt (and pants, you sickos), but no coat, and I wasn't cold. It's in the low 40s, which is wonderful, considering how cold it's been. Everything's melting. We can get out our back door again, and step out onto our deck, of which we can see multiple parts. The far edge and the adjacent corner part of the step are clear. Out front, the small area where we put flowers is close to being snow-free, as is our porch. Even our mailbox isn't quite so snow-covered anymore, which is great. It's bright and sunny and reminding me that spring really is coming. It is the light at the end of the tunnel, the snow-walled tunnel, which currently keeps melting and dribbling down the street into the drainage basins. And to think, this might be one of the cooler days this week. I might see my front lawn yet.
