Two from the weekend

I hate it when I forget stuff.

One: My dad went to Sam's Club on Sunday. When he checked out, the guy at the register saw his card and his name and asked dad if he had a daughter named (my name) who was a teacher. Whoa. Well, yeah--emphasis on *was*, though. Turns out there is a teacher with my name a couple towns north. She's an English teacher at one of the high schools. I find it funny that, out of all the women with my name, the majority of them not only are teachers, but are English teachers.

(I first expounded on that thought here.)

Two: I enjoy watching Saturday Night Live, seeing as I'm usually home on Saturday nights. Because I was busy writing the dissertation on contest, I missed the first half of the show. However, I *did* catch the Fed Ex vs. UPS sketch. It's where the guys from those delivery services compete for the heart of an office receptionist. Let me tell you--as someone who comes in contact with delivery guys, I found that funny as hell. It also brought flashbacks of the Grizzly Adams-type Fed Ex guy from the music store (*creepy creepy creepy must take shower NOW!*). I think my favorite delivery person was the Fed Ex Express girl, as she never leered at me...though I must say it is sort of fun to have the current UPS guy flirt with me, though he's like 40. Not that that's bad--he'd actually be younger than half of my former coworkers, and they were pretty cool--but...no.

work, dad, family, ups, snl, fed ex, bookstore, sam's, comments, music store
