This week hasn't been all bad.
--My marjoram has sprouted.
--I hit forty hours on Wii Fit. I have achieved the gold piggy bank.
--Dad said that when he goes to get flowers for the yard, he'll look at tomato plants as well.
At school, there's an art display along the hall where I have my music classes. The works are in all sorts of media--photos, acrylic and oil paintings, charcoal and pastel drawings, some that could be classified as sculpture. Some are just okay, the sort of thing I could do, but some are really amazing and creative. One picture of two dancers, with one dancer flying through the air, is labeled "not photoshop!" Sad that it would have to be labeled that way, but it's pretty cool. And there's this sort of mobile I really like, with the base being a dreamcatcher and all these pictures and charms hanging off of it. I'd kind of like pictures of some of them but when I left there were several people in the hall, including in front of the mobile.
I found out I have three more piano classes left, as we're not meeting that Wednesday of finals week. Kind of a bummer, but then I can devote more time to the computer, I suppose. I've had a dearth of composing ideas this term, so I pulled out the camp song, which is entirely in the computer and I've printed up nice copies of everything. My teacher is excited to delve into it, as the only time he ever saw it was the very first time he met me and my only copies of it were handwritten.
Meanwhile, I don't think I've mentioned the wacky vocal teacher in a while. This was the one who rudely kicked me out of the music lab during second week, then didn't show up for a couple of weeks, then came back and wasn't quite so rude but still was like, I need this room! After spring break, it seemed like she and her student had switched lesson times and started at noon and not 11:30 (which was really more like 11:40, because only once did her student ever show up on time). That was fine, because that meant they could start off in the room they liked but couldn't get into because my lesson teacher had a class in there. Imagine my surprise when the student walked in today at 11:40. Luckily I was already off the computer and was playing through stuff on a piano. I said, oh, I'm sorry, I thought you'd changed your time. The woman kind of sighed and said the teacher kept changing the time on her. Ooh. Yikes. That sucks. How unprofessional. I mean, I think it's pretty bad when you can't show up on time for a private lesson you scheduled, but you'd think the teacher would at least be on time, and at a consistent time. The teacher did show up just a couple minutes later, and I asked if they'd switch rooms at noon--I didn't want to drag all my stuff out in the hall if I didn't have to--and she distractedly said yes. Cool. As it turns out, the student doesn't like being in that room; I heard her complain as they switched that the lab was one of the dustiest rooms she'd been in. They only have one or two more lessons; I hope they start at noon, because it'll be easier on everyone.
