Household update

I think I mentioned that mom's computer died last Sunday. It took dad until Wednesday, but he got it back up and running, only to have it re-die yesterday. Mom had complained that the computer was slower than before, but considering it's a ten-year-old laptop that has been dropped on several occasions, we should be glad it still runs in some form at all. Dad played around with it some more yesterday but it's still in cardiac arrest. Perhaps mom should simply get herself another computer. However, she wants a Wii for Christmas. Maybe she should stop buying dolls for a while and save up for one or the other.

Meanwhile, after we went grocery shopping last week, we ended up with four gallon containers in our refrigerator--two milks and two orange juices. Our fridge was not properly configured to hold all of them, so I ended up having to take out a shelf. Yesterday we ended up putting it back in, higher than before, which necessitated the removal of this under-shelf bin thing we never really used. Dad and I use it to hold film, not food, and he was able to remove the device that held it under the topmost shelf in the fridge. I think we'd tried to do that when we first got the fridge four and a half years ago but couldn't figure it out. Now? Not only do we have room for two-liter bottles and more on the bottom of the fridge, but we can open up the save-a-space shelf all the way and keep smaller containers on it. We've gained a half-shelf from this. Before, we had to slide in the front part of that shelf to fit the two-liters, but there wasn't much that could fit underneath it. This truly is exciting for us, especially with a holiday coming.
