So, I contemplated not going to school today; that was how badly I was feeling. I did go, and I even brought my insurance bowl with me again--unlike last week, though, I shoved it into my backpack and even took it to class. I can't tell if it's just my "normal" MW thing or something else, as my throat is hinting that it wants to get sore. I kept hoping that my class would be canceled so I could just go home. Oh, if only that had been the case.
My class was relatively empty when it first started; only about 8 people were there as opposed to the 20 or so we're supposed to have. The parking lot was emptier than normal as well. Maybe five people trickled in during the first ten minutes, and that was good, because we learned something important: Our teacher will be going on medical leave and will be out for a while. Let me tell you, as soon as she told us I pretty much snapped out of my ill feelings. It's not my place to say what's going on, but it's worrisome, and I've known other people who've gone through similar procedures and it's not something to bounce back from quickly. Luckily we do have someone to come in and take her spot, so we'll meet her next week, but wow. What a shock. My teacher is awesome and part of the reason I'm taking the class, so to learn she'll miss probably half of it--and it's her specialty, too--is disappointing, and the reason for it is upsetting. But I hope everything goes okay and her recovery is swift and smooth.
