I am no longer in possession of an iPod.
While there is a Walmart within a mile or two of my house, I've vowed never to go there. Instead, I went to the one by the mall, because then I could stop by the kiosk and Borders and kill two birds with one stone, basically. I went to the mall first, and--holy crap, there's no kiosk! I wandered around for a bit, marveling at what stores had left since the last time I was there--the bargain bookstore is still there and still closing--and I never found a kiosk. I even walked by Claire's to see if M was working and I didn't see her. Sigh. On to Walmart. The return was pretty easy, especially since I had a gift receipt, except the return shows the original price of the item at first and I thought I had almost $100 coming back to me. Holy crap. It ended up not being quite so much, but still a lot, and I wandered for quite a while before settling on two jump drives, one for home and one for school, because I know nobody uses floppies anymore; two photo memory cards; and a holder for the jump drives. There were other items I could have gotten and, in some cases, have wanted for a while, but either they were crappy-looking or else they weren't exactly what I was looking for. Had it been Target, I probably would have been done in about five minutes. Oh, well. I accomplished my goal of spending the entire credit, so at least I don't have to go back. On to Borders. Since there wasn't a kiosk, I couldn't buy a calendar there, and I had a gift card from last year that needed to be spent. K was working so I got to talk to her for a bit. She's excited to hear I'm going to school and asked me to plan the next WB get-together. I'll wait until after New Year's to email everyone.
The disappointing part of the night? My shoe. My favorite pair of shoes has some sort of hole in the left one, and as it is very wet outside, that meant the shoe got very wet inside. I think I know where it is, on the front part where some of the edging has come off, but I don't know if there's an easy fix. Anyone know how to fix shoes? Maybe tomorrow I'll do some Googling.
