Phone, round 2

Aug 29, 2008 12:25

The constant ringing of the phone last night has continued into this morning.

First, my dad called, asking if Lowe's had called about the tub. Nope, not yet. He said he probably had the number and would call them.
Then, 5-10 minutes later, he called back. The tub is in. Also, he has to stay an extra hour, meaning he won't get home until 4:30, meaning we won't be on the road until 5:30, but the good news is he'll show me his sneaky-peeky back route to Niles. Oh, goody. Because I couldn't find my way there myself. He assures me it doesn't involve the tollway.
Then, 5-10 minutes after that, Lowe's called. Ha. It was their automated system. Well, at least they did call.
*Then*, Osco called. Did I really want 3" prints? Yes, and you're not the first person I've talked to about this; can you put a note on them so that people stop calling me? The girl apologized for that. The next time I get film developed, I'm going to have to write a note on the envelope myself. *sigh*
At some point, there was a random hang-up call.

Meanwhile, all of this came during the two-hour window in which I was practicing. I haven't really practiced in nearly a month--camp didn't count, and the week I came back I did the camp music redux before filing it away, and then dad was home last week, so here you go. And I didn't even finish one of the songs because it was freaking 14 pages long. Holy cow. But I'd marked it on my little sheet where I keep track of what I've played so at least I knew it was coming. For you flutists out there, it's "Daphnis et Chloe" out of one of my excerpt books. It's cool, but oh, man. Lots of little notes in one measure.

Okay. Gotta find a way to pick up my mood. It's better to be a pleasant mourner than a crabby mourner.
