Mom's work Christmas party was last night. She (and dad) gave me a hard time about coming home late Friday night...yet she didn't get home until midnight. Ha, what a party animal.
Work was okay. I'm getting better with the closing procedures, which is good. If only my coworkers would quit taking the kiosk keys home with them, we'd be fine. (Two people in the past two days I've worked have left the mall with the key. We do have a spare, but we'd prefer the regular key.)
I got gas on the way home tonight. I may be traveling to my farthest school tomorrow for a concert, and I wanted to make sure I'd be all gassed up. The good thing: The charge was exactly $20.00. I love it when that happens. The bad thing: There was...something on the ground at the pump. It might have been gasoline, it might have been something else, but it was slick and smelly and gross and I swear it was starting to melt the bottoms of my shoes, as black marks appeared on the clean concrete where I stepped to try to clean off my soles. And my car smelled of gasoline the whole way home. Lovely.
Dad must be feeling better. He realized that he hadn't bought any meat for tonight, so we had frozen Italian beef. However, we needed bread/rolls for it, so he went and bought bread...and he also bought sausages, too. The fact that he bought more food must mean that his appetite is coming back. I can't believe I didn't figure out what he's got. A recurrence of the chicken pox virus in later years is shingles. Dad has shingles. I think it's still itching him, but he's got a couple salves for it, and mom had been looking online for info (last night at the party she sat next to someone's wife who's a doctor, and she was talking to her about it). He should be fine. I'm just glad it wasn't any more serious. He was starting to worry me.
