Okay. So. I'm totally thinking about the perm account. I do use LJ a lot--hello--and it might be nice to support them. I don't know that I would honestly use all the features, but I might be interested in the userpics. I don't know

Now, I already have a Flickr account. I've had it for, oh, over a year. Since it's a Yahoo! module, it was really easy to join, and there are a number of features I like about it. Again, the problem is that regardless of if I put everything onto one site or I have a personal site and a camp site, I won't have access to all of my pictures unless I have a paid (they call it "pro") account. I think some of the other sites do give you unlimited picture hosting, which is nice, but there are certain features I like with Flickr and Yahoo! One is the tag feature. I have gone through and labeled most of my camp pictures with people's names, the year it took place, the instrument group if applicable, etc. I would like to keep those tags wherever I go. I know Flickr would support such a thing; I don't know about the others. Also, I would be able to create different photo albums for the different camp years, which I've already done under Yahoo! I don't know what some of the other sites are like. I did go and check them out--and, in fact, have checked most of them out before--but some of them don't give you a good overview of their product; it's more like, just sign up and *then* we'll tell you what you're getting. Uh, no.
I know you have a Photobucket account, as does c_in_quotes. Tell me what you like about it. I know you can have different photo albums; does Photobucket offer a tagging feature? Also, do they put a limit on how many pictures you can upload? This is my main concern. Yahoo! was great like that because they didn't put a limit on things; that's why all of my camp pics are there. (I'm not even done uploading all my pics, either; I'm still missing a couple of years, I believe.) The picture count on Yahoo! is at 825. The vast majority of those are camp pics.
I have a few months to think about this, at least, but I'll need to make some sort of decision soon. Yahoo! states that once the pictures are moved from their site, you can no longer access them. The three options are to move the pics (en masse) to one of the sites listed, to download them onto your computer, or to purchase an archive CD. You can download or buy the CD without penalty, you can say, but you'd have to do that before the transfer.
*sigh* I'm still annoyed that they didn't publicize any of this, but whatever.
