Every month, we get a call from the Amvets lady. She is looking for donations to support, as she says, our American veterans. Mom once donated to them years ago and has been on the list, and we know if a call comes in at a particular point in the evening, it's probably her.
Mom does occasionally say yes, and a couple weeks ago, she said yes again, then commenced cleaning out her closets. Yes, plural. She has her closet and drawers in her bedroom, she has the closet in the middle bedroom, and she has the hanging clothes rack that is out in our second story foyer. Last weekend she had a number of tops piled on top of the ironing board and asked me to check them out. I did, I tried stuff on, I pulled a couple things out.
This weekend, she found more, and I tried more on, and I came away with a few more things--but of course, I only have so much room for storage. I'm going to have to clear out my own closet at this rate, but unless I have my Saturdays free, I don't have the energy to do something like that. I've been busy for the past month.
Mom ended up with a large garbage bag full of various tops, many of which were identical except for color, and many of which were purchased off the TV, which is how she rolls. I'm just glad to see her going through some of this stuff. If she's not wearing it, move it along to someone who might.
