Weird, wet weekend

We'd had such pleasant weekend weather up until now. It was wet and/or chilly for this one. I'd slept with my window open Friday night, which was refreshing--and I heard an owl hooting to boot--but once the rain came, the dampness meant it was uncomfortable to have the window open any longer. Ultimately I made a couple packages of ramen for dinner for us since having something warm was ideal. It was similar today, though we had a few peeks of sun, but not enough to make me want to go outside at any point, plus it wasn't long before the rain returned. It finally ended after lunchtime.

I'm back to playing in two bands as of tomorrow. We were given a listing of what we're playing for our next Regular Band concert, and I pulled the music yesterday and practiced it today. I have roughly half the songs, so that was helpful, but I don't know what the music will be like for the new pieces. There are some tricky sections for what I do have, so I'm not looking forward to practicing even longer than I've been. I go over some of my Fancy Band music 3-4 times in places because it's that difficult.

To add to it, I started feeling weird while practicing. I did my warmups, I went through the Regular Band music, but when I got to the Fancy Band stuff--and I start with the easiest song, the canzona--I needed to sit down. I went and grabbed a stool and used that the rest of my practice time, and it helped, but I don't know what was up with that. I will say I'm looking forward to sneaking in some more practice time during the week, to get the Fancy Band music under my fingers some more. I've found that's pretty helpful.
