It's been a wild ride the past few days. May, June, barely any rain. Saturday, July 1st comes along, and we've had more rain than sun it seems. Sunday was a deluge in places, and it turns out the office manager went downtown to see a matinee on Sunday, then couldn't get around flooded viaducts for ages to get back home. I would say his trip should normally take about 45 minutes; it took him two and a half hours.
We got lucky in that the weather wasn't too bad on Tuesday, though it was warm and humid. Yesterday, after work, we had a big storm roll through. Dad even texted me to warn me, but I was back in the break room; BBC and Puffy were still working, but we'd all planned to leave around 6. Ha. Nope. The rain was so heavy we were stuck inside until after 6:30, and by that time the lake had formed between the buildings. I had to leave first in order to give the others a clear place to drive through without going into the water. Then, the official road in front of work had flooded, as it does, so I had to go up and around to get around that to get to band, only to discover the traffic lights were out. Thankfully I just needed to make a right turn so that wasn't too bad, but geez. Feast or famine around here.
