I only posted work-related stories on Saturday, so I missed what I actually *did* that day. At the grocery store, it was the day to put whatever I wanted in the cart, so I did, and I spent more than I have in ages--probably since two years ago when we were buying three weeks' worth of groceries at a time. Alas, we did not by three weeks' worth of groceries this time--yay inflation--but interesting stuff nonetheless.
Also Goober Grape. DW and I were having a conversation about it the other day since it popped in my head, and I went ahead and bought some. Then I antagonized him with it.
Me: *sends him picture of jar*
DW: Nooooo
Me: Yesssss
DW: *stern picture of his face, in mask* NO!
Me: Just for that, I might just bring the jar to work and eat it in front of you
DW: *grossed out emoji*
(He's the only one of my coworkers with my phone number. Prior to now, we've pretty much just stuck to "happy holidays" and that's it, but I had to rib him about this, heh.)
I finally cracked it open tonight. It's fine. The texture's a little different from separate PB&J, but I've been known to mix the two together and eat it as a treat during Lent. Like, I have no problem with it. I just haven't eaten official Goober Grape in a few decades.
After shopping, we ended up at Menards for a little bit. Dad wanted to get my thoughts on materials for the middle bedroom. Once my schedule changed last year, that put the kibosh on turning it into an official office, but dad would like to get moving on it. I agree. Step one is to paint; step two is to put up the cabinet I bought last summer. At that point, we can get a better idea of measurements and such for the countertop that will be the desk. Going there, and pulling out a tape measure, showed me I probably won't want a specific corner piece like you might have in a kitchen, as opposed to 45-degree angles where the two counter pieces come together. The corner piece's depth is almost twice as deep as the counters. Hmm. And based off the materials dad was looking at, something like that isn't really feasible. There's still a lot more thinking to be done on that, but it's good to get thinking on it.
Once home, I finally did a couple loads of laundry. I skipped my stuff last week since my back wasn't cooperating, but I never did anything during the week, and it would be too much to leave it all for Sunday. It was also pants-washing week, since I wear my work pants 3-4 times before washing them again, so that necessitated adjusting loads so I had the right amounts of clothes in them. At least that's done. I could tell I hadn't done my laundry in two weeks because I've never seen so many empty hangers in my closet. I put them in a specific place, and that section of my closet was basically full. Yikes.
As for my back, it's improving. I purposely didn't take anything on Saturday to see how I felt--no Aleve, no sports cream, no ice pack. And I was a bit more sore on Sunday, so I went back to some of it. There is a bruise on my lower back, though I can't confirm it's from shoveling; nothing touched that area. Can you bruise from stretching? That's weird even for me. I will say that on the way home from work today, I stopped for gas, and I was able to get into and out of my car with no issues...and then when I realized it, that's when my back hurt, and it wasn't as easy to get out of the car when I got home. But things are improving. It still hurt to sit over the weekend, so I wasn't as productive as I wanted to be; some things are far more easily done when sitting versus standing. Oh well. Maybe next weekend.
