Yesterday, mom mentioned that my cousin Paul got married. He's a few months younger than me, but this is his third marriage. (Uncle John had three kids, and there are three marriages between them, but they're all from one person!) Also, his new wife has a place name for a first name, and his daughter also has a place name for a first name, so apparently those are the only ladies allowed in his life? Anyway, it looks like he got married on Friday, but announced it yesterday, and it was a hot topic amongst the ladies in the family. Mom said to me, you'd know this information if you were on Facebook! Then here comes my dad, upstairs to get ready to go grocery shopping yesterday morning, and mom said to him, did you know that Paul got married? He went, really? So, yeah, proof that just because you're on Facebook doesn't mean you actually keep up with everything. Dad would later say that the text thread with his sisters and nieces was busy with the news, heh.
(Consider there are at least four of us, maybe five, of the cousins who have never been married. Paul has more marriages than nearly half the cousins combined. I don't think his brother ever married, and while his sister has three kids, we don't think she ever married, either.)
So then today, mom comes along and mentions news about two of Aunt Rose's grandkids. One of them, a cousin we know who herself got married this year, went in to have her third baby today. It should be a boy, and the name picked is decidedly Irish. I don't know her new husband's heritage but her daughter has a name with an Italian spelling, and I don't think either she or her first husband are Italian whatsoever, so it might just be that they liked the name.
Then, one of her first cousins (my second), from her uncle's large family, apparently he got married over the weekend--and the bride is pregnant. If I've met this cousin, he was pretty young and I likely couldn't pick him out of a crowd, but congrats. For being a large family (six kids), it's kind of impressive that there aren't that many marriages and babies. This is only the third marriage and third grandchild I know of over there. Hopefully I can get more info out of mom soon, but I've been really tired today and don't have the energy to do much.
