I broke down and picked up some Milk of Magnesia at the store today. Nothing had really changed in my situation, and I just wanted to get things moving again. I was hoping to pick up a small, 8 oz bottle of the strawberry flavor, but all Woodman's had was the 12 oz size in mint. Good to know: The mint made it somewhat palatable. Oh, man, never buying the plain again. It's like drinking chalk. This was more like *minty* chalk. Actually, it wasn't terrible, though it probably helped that I took a lower dose. Adults can take 30-60 mL, I think it is, and I took 30. Within two hours, things started, er, moving. The dose was taken around 10:45; it's still working its way through me over eight hours later. Things are gurgling around. That's fine. Better today than tomorrow. I feel somewhat better, though given that it's still doing its thing, I probably won't truly know how things are until everything calms down in there. But at least stuff's moving along! Oh, gosh.
In other news, I had to go to the bank today, and while sitting in the drive-thru we spotted the new location of the cleaners, so that was exciting. It's next to Plato's Closet, which seems an interesting match.
When we got home, there were a ton of birds in one of the trees across the street, chittering away. We went to point them out to mom, and they were all on the parkway, then as a unit they were back up in the tree. They were fun to watch for a bit, as they went down into the neighbors' yard, then back up, then they flew away, only to come back a minute later--either them, or a similar group of birds. Funny.
Not quite funny: I was making copies of flute choir music--Tex dropped a new piece of music off for me at work before I got in yesterday--and was looking outside while doing so. I could see the neighbors' son's dog, and Sully...but no Gabbie. Hmm. I went down and asked dad if he'd noticed anything this week, but he said no, though he did say they tended to keep her away from the "ruffians," which those younger dogs totally are, but I didn't see her at all today.
Then again, I spent a portion of the day in my room, sewing up a new mask. I want to see if I can make one for flute playing. I have plenty of fabric, so I'm seeing what I can do. I'm partway done with sewing the body of the mask; step two is making a hole for my mouth. Step three would then be to fashion some sort of shield over it, to sort of stick the flute headjoint inside to play while covering my mouth area. I'm still thinking of ideas there. At least step one is most of the way done.
