Grandma's home!
My mom called about 2:20 yesterday afternoon to say my grandmother had made it home. This was eight weeks to the day since her accident. There's a reason I took this week off work. I'm spending today with her.
As mom was talking to me, grandma was talking in the background. Apparently she has a doctor's appointment at 3 PM to go over her medication, something like that. Okay, good to know. Oh, and she wants to get her nails done. The nail place is close to the doctor! Great. Why don't we go there at 1:30 so that will give you time to do your nails and then drive over? Oh, no, she wants to do them early and we can do plenty of stuff in between. Apparently grandma doesn't get that some people like to do things that are in close proximity within close periods of time. I also understand she wants to go to the hearing aid place.
…It's gonna be a fun day. I was warned to make sure I had plenty of gas. Good thing I got my car checked yesterday, right?
And, just for more fun, I also have plans this evening that, in checking the time, may possibly be a half-hour earlier than I expected. So whatever it is that grandma wants to do, we have to have it done by 5:30 so I can be on my way. It will likely be a long day. But that's okay.
By the way, mom spent the night with her mom in case she needed anything, so it was pretty quiet around here last night. Hope mom was able to sleep. I know my going over there today is helpful to her and her brother, so I'm really glad the timing worked out the way it did. Remember, grandma could have been released on either of the last two Saturdays as well.
