Vacation, day 1

Mar 06, 2017 13:36

It was so nice not to have to get up this morning at a certain time--doubly so since it's Monday, when I'd have to get up slightly early for our work meeting.

Aah.

This is the first non-camp vacation I've taken since I've been at this job. Or, really, ever. When I worked at the bookstore, I had enough days off during the week (outside of the holidays) that I was able to futz around and do things, make appointments, what have you. And, of course, when I wasn't working at all, I could do whatever I wanted and it was awesome. Alas, I haven't yet figured out a way to live without having money. I only had the one rich (great-)uncle, and he passed away years ago.

I do have appointments/plans for parts of this week, but today? I purposely didn't schedule anything, same for Friday. I still have band, but I don't have to leave until 6, so that works out. Friday is absolutely clear at this point. I've kind of just been chillin' around the house today, though I did spend an hour uploading pictures. Once I finished with all my camp ones last fall, I never touched them again, at least not current pictures; I had some old family pictures clogging up the desktop on the old computer so I had made sure to upload those. I'd also taken time last night to label a bunch of things as well, picture-wise, so that I could just upload and go. I'm now a month past camp, whee. There's still a bunch of camp stuff to do, too, that I haven't touched in months (see: paper camp journals, which I've barely touched) that I'll have to do at some point. But I really just wanted some time to decompress. The rest of the month won't be any easier at work, so I can save my energy for all that. I know I won't get done everything that I want to get done this week, but every little bit helps to get me caught up. Then again, I'm never really caught up. But I can play mind games with myself.
