Spring-ish cleaning

With the recent warm weather, it's been getting us into a spring-ish mood. I cracked open a couple windows yesterday, and even left mine open overnight. It actually wasn't that cold in my room, surprisingly enough, but I wouldn't call it warm, either. Mom spent much of the day going through her bathroom. She has a soaking tub in there that basically has become a catch-all for various notions, lotions, and potions. At one point she came downstairs with several pencils and a Sharpie, which my father left in there. What, don't you keep your office supplies in the washroom? For my part, I am continuing to try to get stuff done. I try to keep an eye on my finances, tracking what I spend and how I spend it, but I haven't done that since October; I spent several hours on that yesterday. Today, I went through some of my solo contest stuff to get it more organized, and that included typing up some of the solos I'd heard. This way, when next year comes along, I at least have an idea of what I'll be hearing. I did try to look up some of the solos online, but I couldn't find that many of them, which was disappointing. The web would be a great resource for kids to hear what these solos sound like, if only recordings were there. Believe me, some of them could use the help. My Papa supplies were helpful with the organizing; I'd found an unopened pack of report covers and decided to put all my paperwork in one of those. It's more compact than a binder but I can still flip through everything. I did end up using sheet protectors, though, rather than clip everything directly into the cover, because otherwise some of the info would be hidden. It seems like it'll work okay. I can't imagine I'll be doing too many more of these but who knows, maybe someone else'll call on me. I feel like I'm getting better at judging. After that, I felt kind of tired and just relaxed for a while, but the good news is that I got in some practicing on flute today. I skipped it last week after the ER experience, and prior to that, if I'd practiced, it was all piccolo. The concert is in two weeks and I'd like to feel prepared on the instrument I'll actually be playing. This will help.
