And failing that, we could ask every warden to check in on their inmate, and do the same ourselves for unsorted ones. But that can have large consequences, as a course of action, so it might be wise to wait on it.

Rather than wizards or getting people that can do all sorts of things to your head involved, it might be better to diplomatically approach a solution. What would magic do, anyway?
I want to get there before they die. But I also don't want to barge in on every inmate like they've done something wrong when most of them haven't. Which takes some logic and a little caution, nothing more.
