[Warden filter]I think it may be wise for us all to check in with the location and well-being of our inmates, as at least one inmate has gone missing - and it may be worth ascertaining whether this is a one off occurrence, or something involving more than one person, so we can work together to find out why and how this might be happening ( Read more... )

Mr. Stone has been oddly quiet and reclusive lately. I haven't seen him on the network or around the ship. It's uncharacteristic of him and I'm beginning to grow concerned.

If these recently appearing figures and voices are leaking through from another dimension, half-on and half-off the ship, it might be possible that a person on the ship could slip through the dimensional crack in the other direction and be both here and not here.

Mr Stone being the gentleman with... curious taste in clothing, yes?

If there's more than one, then, well, what could Stone and Profit have in common? I'm struggling.

How do we define 'another dimension', and how would we go about getting them back?

[At least it's not a ghost theory]

And vertical hair, yes.

Both inmates. Both relatively young men. But beyond that there's nothing immediately obvious. Whatever's got them could be targeting something it senses and we don't, however. Perhaps they have the same blood type, or share a certain recessive gene. Or perhaps they were simply both in the wrong place at the wrong time.

If they are in another dimension...[he pauses, thinks about how to phrase it in English words] ...it would entail them shifting over to identical spatio-temporal coordinates in a pocket of reality currently layered on top of our own. To get them back we'd have to enter that other reality, find them, and pull them across.

Dr Lewis and Mozenrath are suspected too.

None of them are immediately violent inmates. They... well, I hate to say it, but they are easy targets, if you want to win a fight against someone, or incapacitate them.

...how are they still on our items if they are in another dimension?

They'd still be here, just shifted. If the dimensional cracks are still open there's no reason they wouldn't register on our items.

"Easy targets" though, that implies something that thinks and plans. Kidnapping is fairly common on the ship, but I can't think of what motive a person would have. They don't have any enemies in common. Their combined set of skills don't add up to any sensical plot I can think of. And if someone was doing it to get the Admiral or wardens' attention, I would expect a message claiming responsibility and making demands by now.

Perhaps. Or perhaps they are waiting to get enough of a payload to count - Mister Sexby, for all his... horrific acts, proved that one or two are not enough to act upon or get an answer. Or perhaps they are expecting their imprisonment itself to do something - they could be setting a trap for you, for me, for Mr Capa.

And sometimes, people are not entirely logical.
