So, as is typical of me recently I am making a livejournal entry when I'm back home sitting in a favorite coffee shop. I don't think there will ever be any getting used to Muncie, Indiana. Thank god that a couple of profs don't like me that much - otherwise I could end up in Muncie longer than I want to

What part of the effects of social class? That definately has my attention and I'd like to hear more.

Effects on an individual. Tell you more when I know more. Just getting started.

sounds like an interesting topic. so much can relate to social class, not to mention, the number of ways one can break up society into classes. that sometimes just staggers me when I ponder it. got two interesting books to recommend:
How Race is Lived in America. based on a New York Times project. six events are looked at from two point of views: one from the white person's point of view and one from the African American's point of view.
Nickel and Dimed in America. It is about a woman who tries to live as a waitress, maid and retail employee.
