Oh. My. God.
I don't even know why I'm surprised, I already knew The Darkness were fucking awesome live, and still! I was giggling like an idiot!! FRANKIE!! eeeee, FRANKIE IN A TIGER PRINT SHIRT! eeeeeheheheeheee! :D
Maybe I should start by filling everyone in on my trip so far? (You know, in case anyone cares... XD)
So!
I woke up at about 8:00, cos my plan was to have breakfast and then study. Didn't quite go that way. I had a crappy breakfast of Rice Krispies, and while I do like them, they're not the same when you're expecting Lucky Charms. Then I went back to the dorm and wasted time. Somehow. I'm the queen of wasting time, really. I honestly have no idea what I did from after breakfast until 11-ish. I do remember walking with
lipgl0ssity to the financial aid office cos I wanted to pick up my FAFSA, and then walking back and getting myself some chicken strips from Wendy's cos I was starving. I really can't remember anything before that.
My Greek Mythology final was a breeze. Stressful, cos I kept thinking I'd been at it for more than an hour with the way other people kept finishing before me, but still easy. Loads of questions on Perseus. (Hmm, I sure hope I got the one about who he rescued right [/sarcasm]). I finished in a little less than an hour along with Jaymes, and after picking up my A- essay, I pretty much just ran back to my room. I ran around saying goodbye to Laura, Brittny, and Catherine, then threw away the trash in my room, gathered all my crap and ran out only to find that I'd missed my cab and had to call again. He came back and we drove off to the Amtrak train stop (cos it's not a station). Holy crap am I lucky! The cab got there RIGHT with the train. I paid, ran out, and saw Starr as she got on the train and just went on right after her. I caught the 1:45 train instead of the 3:45!
The ride was fun, especially with Starr and the guy who was working the refreshment counter downstairs. Among his funniest phrases were:
"You can join my AA club. Alcohol All-day,"
"It's Friday. If you're not driving, you should be drinking"
(both while announcing that the counter had alcohol)
And, "That'll work" cos it set Starr and me laughing about Mya Rudolph as Mr. Rochester's wife: "Uhh. Yeah. Aiiiight, that'll work."
Anyway, it was a REALLY good thing I caught the early train, cos getting to LAX from Union Station took an hour. We didn't even take the freeway and it took forever! There would have been no way in hell for us to make it to the airport if I'd taken the later train.
So, despite that horrible flight where I didn't sleep at all, and despite Whisper scratching me, I'm having a lovely time.
Simba's a dear, and he's nearly always guaranteed to wake me up somehow in the mornings. The first night I slept here he settled himself between my ankles while I was lying on my back, which kept me from moving. Which kept me from sleeping, cos I can't fall asleep on my back. Then he pounced on my boobs. Well not really pounced just put his paw there and looked at me while I was trying to sleep. Though I don't think that me scratching the back of his ears helped me much.
Yesterday we had lunch with Glae's sister Fran, her mum, and her stepdad. Lunch was lovely. We walked down to the pub that's three doors away and I really liked it.
And then... oh, GOD, The Darkness!! Though it wasn't very easy getting there. First off, Glae had stopped at a gas station to get money, buy snacks, &c., and she'd popped the hood on the car for some reason and neither of us really remembered until we were on the motorway and all of a sudden the hood just flew up and scared the shit out of us. (But if anyone asks, the hood acted up all on its own.) Sooo scary, honestly. Not as scary as what happened when we got into London. We were just driving along, and we were at one of these weird intersection things (weird for me cos it seems cars are coming from everywhere.
So umm... I think I'll finish updating tomorrow cos I've sort of lost track of where I was and what I was talking about because Glae took the laptop off my lap so we could eat before going out to see Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. All I've got to say is: best. fight. ever. :D
