Here it is! The end of year meme! I didn't fill one out for 2006 unfortunately, so I missed out on naming Maxïmo Park my greatest musical discovery and whatnot. I'm glad I didn't since most of the stuff I was happy about fell apart two weeks into 2007.
1. What did you do in 2007 that you've never done before?
I WENT TO GREECE!!! It was absolutely amazing. I also bought booze, both in Greece and then back here once I turned 21. Ooh I also tried beer, which I thought I would never like.
2. Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more in 2008?
I don't really make resolutions because I know I won't keep them. Even fun ones.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.
5. What countries did you visit?
GREECE!!! Oh, Greece, you were so amazing. I really was just overwhelmed seeing so much of what I study in front of me. Oh and the food was amazing.
7. What date from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
June 22-August 4= GREECE!!
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I dunno. I don't think I really achieved much or can't think of anything that would be considered that. I guess getting over Whatsisface and going on with my year was quite an achievement since I was seriously broken up about it.
I'd say not seriously hurting Paco was a big achievement.
Oh, and also not passing out on my way down the Sumarian Gorge. Jesus, I still can't believe I hiked that shit.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Struggling so much with Greek this last quarter.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No, thankfully.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
TICKETS TO SEE MAXIMO PARK!! I'm so glad I bought them for both nights. Oh, and also all the Maxïmo Park singles bundles. I've never collected singles for any other band, but I felt the need to this time around. Good investment, I love them all.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
The Awesome Dept., and my family's most recently. We're really being too polite.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
COUSINS!! Well, mostly their parents' behavior for letting them run around like uneducated little shits. I honestly would have expected better of my uncle.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Lame shit like rent and utilities and books I didn't really want. But at least I spent a lot in Greece on yummy food. :D
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
MAXIMO PARK!!! and Greece, of course. Specifically seeing all the sites. I do so love archaeological sites, and the less touristy ones were a treat. Especially Brauron.
16. What song will always remind you of 2005?

LOST kept bringing the awesomeness. 30 Rock was hilarious. The Office was amazing. Flight of the Conchords was a new favorite and so good. Dirt and The Riches were also favorites. Then there was TV on DVD like Shameless and Black Books. Oh man, I just love TV.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
My cousins and their mother.
26. What was the best book you read?
Imperium by Robert Harris. He's amazing at writing about ancient Rome and made me a complete Cicero fangirl.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Snowden, Mark Ronson, Glen Hanson and Marketa Iglova (Once!!), Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Μιχαλης Χατζηγιαννης, Guillemots, and Mika.
28. What did you want and get?
Greece, and finally being in so many places I've read about and only seen pictures of.
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
300 and Once. Amazing in their own ways. Pan's Labyrinth was also wonderful.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 21 and started my senior year of college. Yeah, real fun.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Meh.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005?
Whatever's clean.

Music and my friends.
35. Which celebrity / public figure did you fancy the most?
Paul Smith of Maxïmo Park and Henry Ian Cusick, the delicious Desmond Hume. :)

I miss Laura and Catherine! They're so far away, but always in my heart.

The girls I hung out with in Greece, Brenda, Sidney, and especially Meche. :D
39. What valuable life lesson did you learn in 2007?
Say no to hiking and double check your travel plans before booking any hotels. I could have almost missed my plane from Athens to London because I thought I was leaving a day later. I don't even know.
